WHO WE ARE

RM Mbanjwa Chartered Accountants (“RMMCA”) was founded by its sole director, Mr Rudolf Mfundo Mbanjwa – a qualified Chartered Accountant and Registered Auditor, in 2019.

The practice provides assurance and non-assurance related services to Small and Medium-sized Entities primarily in the KwaZulu Natal, Eastern Cape and Gauteng Provinces of South Africa, with the ability to service entities throughout South Africa.

RMMCA is registered with the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA) and primarily services clients as an independent external auditor for financial statements.

Small and medium sized organisations have traditionally been excluded by the market in terms of accessing assurance services.

This is primarily as a result of rising compliance costs for conducting business in the South Africa.

Lack of adequate entrepreneurial education has also compounded this lack of access as most small-scale entrepreneurs do not appreciate the importance of assurance services.

This is particularly the case with the audit of annual financial statements.

All businesses require assurance services in order to achieve greater reliance on internally generated financial information. This enables the owners and managers to make the necessary business decisions based on the relevant and credible financial information.

Good governance principles also dictate that some level of independent assurance should accompany any set of financial information – particularly annual financial statements. It gives a credible organisation a sense of comfort to know that their financial statements present fairly, in all material respects, it financial performance and position.

In South Africa, small and medium-sized organisations have been identified as a strategic focus area by government in the objective of dealing with the triple-challenge of poverty, unemployment and inequality.

COMPANY LEADERSHIP

Rudolf is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA) and the Association for Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).

Rudolf also holds a Masters in Accounting degree, which he obtained from the University of KwaZulu Natal (UKZN) in 2019. He is also holds a Bachelors in Theology qualification, from Cornerstone School of the Spirit. He has a working career spanning over 13 years. He has worked on various audit assignments and gained extensive experience both in private and public sector as well in audit regulation – at the IRBA. After graduate with CTA at the University of KwaZulu Natal in 2010, he went on to serve his SAICA articles at Ernst &Young in the Durban office. He successfully qualified as a Chartered Accountant in December 2013, and thereafter worked at the Auditor-General as a Manager.

In 2016 he joined the IRBA as an Inspector (Practice Reviewer) where he gained extensive technical experience in both the accounting (International Financial Reporting Standards) and auditing (International Standards on Auditing) standards. He has also worked at SizweNtsalubaGobodo (“SNG”) as a Senior Audit Manager. Rudolf has 5 years lecturing experience – having been a lecturer at University of Zululand and the University of KwaZulu Natal between the years 2018 to 2023.
